Lisa Truong: The Spirit of Hope – Star Wars

As a young child, Lisa Truong, lived in the suburbs of Chicago but moved to Southern California at 15 years of age, where she is living currently.  She is a seamstress, accomplished cosplayer, wife, and mother of Freyja, her four-year-old daughter and her son Jonas, an infant. Lisa’s mother taught her how to sew when she was very young, as her interest in fashion was always apparent.  She enjoyed making dresses for her dolls and herself. 

It is Lisa’s belief that there is an important place for geek culture to play a part in fashion and no longer be kept behind the scenes as stiff, screen printed tees.  The influence of geek fashion is being seen in fashion that is mainstream, and will continue from this time on.
