Samantha Strickland from Orlando, Florida, is a seamstress who began sewing in high school. Her drama teacher decided she would be costuming director for their school play. Ever since that time she has found enjoyment in being a maker and cosplay. Since she began working at Walt Disney World, as a stitcher, she felt that push she needed to start designing in earnest. Samantha feels that Her Universe gave her the direction she needed to put her designs on the runway, and her design this year allowed her to fulfill her biggest dream.
