Her Universe, the geek fashion brand created by Ashley Eckstein, brings geek couture back to San Diego Comic Con for its 9th year. This year brings a new twist to the competition, though. Disney will be joining Hot Topic as headlining sponsors, and all designs (not costumes) to rock the runway will need to be based on Disney properties.
This change means that submissions can be based on anything that is within The Walt Disney Company family of properties:
- Disney
- Pixar
- Marvel
- Star Wars™ & Lucasfilm Ltd.
- 20th Century
- National Geographic
This all comes with Disney entering its 100th anniversary, and the two winners will join Disney and Hot Topic in creating a collection to celebrate.
Her Universe will be accepting submissions from March 20, 2023, through April 28, 2023.
The Her Universe Fashion Show will be July 20th, 2023 at the Grand Hyatt Hotel in San Diego, CA
