Local Fashion Incubator Set To Make A Different Sorta Gown

If you ever had been to Phoenix Fashion Week you will have seen some of the community designers’ best pieces, and this show is sponsored by FABRIC Tempe, a fashion incubator, which works with emerging designers to build their ideas. However, this time Fabric Tempe is working to make a different type of gown.

FABRIC Tempe is working to make FDA-approved gowns for healthcare workers at local healthcare facilities as shortages are becoming more common and orders are entering into the millions for protective garments.

FABRIC is participating in a special task force appointed by the Arizona Governor alongside local healthcare facilities, the Arizona Department of Health Services, and other government and non-government agencies. Internal to FABRIC a task force has been working to research PPE standards.

Fabric has decided to answer the call for action put forth by the FDA for reusable fabric protective equipment that meets safety standards. They hope to set an example for the larger community by joining the fight.

This call has reached groups from grassroots efforts to major brands and factories changing production to produce these items instead of their standard product, including Major League Baseball fan gear company Fanatics, and Ralph Lauren.
