Melissa Lynnette is a seamstress and self proclaimed “giant nerd”. For her job she works for an appearal brand in Los Angeles. She also spends her time watching nerdy shows, reading young adult fiction, and shopping for materials in downtown LA. Growing up in Kansas City she learned a love for clothing and clothing construction from her grandmother who also was a seamstress. She like other entrants in the Her Universe Fashion Show believe that Geek Couture is important to the fashion world as a whole.
For her entry this year she created a gown based on the head of the Wakandan kingsguard Yibambe from Black Panther.
