During media day this year, we were given the opportunity to meet with designers, influencers and models who are taking part in this year’s Phoenix Fashion Week. We took this opportunity to ask some questions, and one such interview was with “Lifestyle Designer of the Year 2017” Quinlan Wilhite of Qmulative, who after winning last year was asked to return as an established designer.
Quinlan told us about how since his win last year his brand has grown. The prize package and education allowed him to expand, and pick up on some projects he put aside for the Phoenix Fashion Week Designer Bootcamp. He tells us that his has been sewing like crazy. We hope to see some of these projects on the runway this year. Since his win he has also expand to become a large supporter of the “buy local” movement.
He also told us about what influences his brand and his vision. Qmulative is his way of expressing his lifestyle, with elements of skater culture, a laid back Arizona and almost surfer feel, and his love of cars, but not just any cars, but like his intro video from last year, fast cars, sleek cars.
