Skyler Barrett has been sewing since she was seven years old, and has always dreamed of designing costumes for stage and film. Since then, she has been creating her own designs as well as recreating her favorites from games, movies and cartoons. Starting Fall 2018 Skyler will begin her studies towards a degree in theater with an emphasis on costuming.
Geek Couture to Skyler Barrett, is an important part of the future of fashion, due to how it empowers everyone who is part of it, as well as embodies the strengths of the characters, and connects those with common interests.
Skyler Barrett presented an ensemble she titled Subject 89P13 from Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, also known as Rocket Raccoon. She paired a prison jumpsuit-inspired dress with a jacket trimmed with raccoon, and a purse to look like an improvised explosive, an expertise of Rocket Raccoon.
