Sarah Timm originates from Ukiah California, but now calls Orange County home. She grew up onstage doing both theater and dance, but her passion for sewing comes from wanting to have a unique wardrobe without spending a lot. She advanced her education in design at FIDM as well as through an advanced program in theatrical costume design. Personally she prefers to dress in outfits that straddle the line between fashion and cosplay, and believes that this is fundamental idea behind Geek Couture.
Sarah’s entry this year into the Her Universe Fashion Show 2018, was a jacket, blouse, and skirt, based on Luke the coffee show owner’s common look from the show Gilmore Girls. Her concept was a “rule 63” version of the character, meaning she swapped the gender of the character and gave it minor tweaks to enhance its femininity of it.
